TRILOGY COVER ART

For this plate, we were supposed to create three drawings with a particular concept--could be movie or book or album trilogy art--using consistent and thematic colors. The illustrations I made are based on three specific songs I used to listen to frequently and considered converting into a story I had in mind. The plot revolves around a bittersweet love story of a person blinded by love. The drawing for the first song, "Sweet Tooth," which is an actual song by The Cavetown, features a person with a heart-shaped cavity as a symbol of too much affection for someone whom they wish to reciprocate their feelings to them to the point where it begins to harm some part of them. In the second illustration, the story continues with them finally being a first-time couple and acting foolishly sappy in love, but they got blinded by their desires. Hence, the illustration depicts a girl throwing up rainbows into a heart-shaped box, which supposedly reflects a toxic relationship with someone they really like but it’s killing them inside. For the last illustration, it is called "The Perfect Pair," which was inspired by the Beabadoobee song. The gummy bear represents the couple, while the scissors depict their genuine happiness. Hence, the title implies that they have not always been the perfect pair and that their real perfect pair should be their own happiness.
